Network Marketing Success Cycle: Part 1

Your excitement is high, you dream of recruiting your first person, quitting your day job, being on stage with the rest of the "heavy hitters", making your first million dollars, and retiring with ongoing residual income checks for the rest of your life!! That is what we all feel when we join our first Network Marketing Company.Yes, you have contracted the "Network Marketing Flu" or NMF. The NMF will stick with die hard Network Marketers the rest of their lives! Even if you decide to leave the industry, you will still carry the "bug" with you the rest of your life.
Once you have contracted the "bug", you will notice a pattern or cycle that exists in every person. I like to call the stages the Network Marketing Success Cycle. Some people will exhibit one or more of the "symptoms" (characteristics) while other may exhibit all of them.

There are 6 stages in the Network Marketing Success cycle.
First Stage- Elation and Excitement! During this stage, you feel like you can conquer anything, the world is yours and you KNOW that you are going to be great at this!! (At least that is what your sponsor told you.) Typically, and per your sponsors' instructions, you get your warm market list together. Usually this is your friends and family, and you are ready to go get ALL of them signed up and in your business. You know that this part is sooo easy. "All of these people know me and they like me", you say to yourself. "This is going to be so easy!!" Think about it, have you ever tried to give a drink of alcohol to a person that doesn't drink alcohol!?
Second Stage-Reality During this stage of the Network Marketing Success cycle, you are beginning to feel a little frustration. You say things like "Why won't these people join my business!?", "They need the money.", "Why can't they see how great this business is!?", "Why are they avoiding me…." etc. All of these thoughts start racing through your mind. You ask your sponsor what to do, and they will typically tell you to talk to more people or jokingly tell you "get some new relatives." Ha-Ha very funny -- NOT!!
Third Stage-Doubts During this stage after so many "No's" (if you have thick skin, you are still in the business.) You began to doubt your decision to get involved in this business. You began to think everything bad about the business model and come to the conclusion that all that stuff that everybody is saying IS true…People say things like.."You're involved in one of those Pyramid Schemes!?" "Why are you wasting your time with that stuff!?", "Only the people at the top make money!" The doubts become so insidious that they automatically lead to the next stage of the Network Marketing Success cycle. - Anger.
