NHRA update: February 14th, 2011

As the 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing season gets ready for its season opener at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, California (February 24th through 27th),a number of teams are announcing new sponsors, new drivers, and new rides, including:

Rocky Boots will be the primary sponsor for Dave Grubnic and Kalitta Motorsports in the Top Fuel Division in three events this season:  the Spring Nationals in Houston (April 29th through May 1st), the FRAM-Autolite Nationals in Sonoma (July 29th through 31st), and the O’Reilly Auto Parts Nationals in Charlotte (September 15th through 18th).

Kuryakyn Products, which produces chrome and performance accessories, will sponsor Chip Ellis on the Lartigue Racing Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Brian Thiel, driver/owner of BTR, will compete in the Funny Car Division full-time.

Ronnie Humphrey will compete full-time in the Funny Car Division for  Troy Humphrey Motorsports, with Summit Racing Equipment’s Genuine Hotrod Hardware as his sponsor.

American Racing, producer of off-road and performance wheels, will sponsor veteran Tony Pedregon’s Funny Car this season.

Rislone Fuel Injector Cleaner will sponsor will sponsor Jim Dunn and the Jim Dunn Racing Funny Car for 2011.

Funny Car veteran Del Worsham earned his Top Fuel license in the off-season, and will race a second Al-Anabi Racing dragster as teammate to Larry Dixon.
