Arizona Wildcats women beat Washington 61-58 to snap 3-game skid

The Huskies, trailing 60-58, got two more chances when Arizona's Shanita Arnold missed a free throw with 15.5 seconds left and Ibekwe hit only 1 of 2 with 2.7 seconds left. But Washington turned the ball over with 4.1 seconds left, and Charmaine Barlow's running half-court shot at the buzzer was off the mark.

The Wildcats led 45-41 in the second half before their long scoring drought, allowing Washington to take a 47-45 lead with 8:50 remaining. Arizona went 0 for 4 and had four turnovers in that stretch. Whyte broke the drought with a layup to tie the game at 47.

The Wildcats hit only one of their first 15 shots and trailed 11-4 in the first eight minutes of the game. But they closed the half on an 18-10 run to go into the break tied at 29-29.

Washington shot 48 percent from the field in the game, but attempted only six free throws, making four. The Huskies also committed 23 turnovers.

Arizona was 12 for 15 from the free-throw line.
