Giants DE Tuck 'fine' after minor car accident

The Giants haven't caught many breaks the past few weeks, but they caught a big one last night when Justin Tuck emerged unscathed from a minor car accident on New Year's Eve.

The accident, as reported by TMZ.com, occurred on Route 4 in Teaneck, N.J., around 8:30 p.m. when Tuck's new Cadillac Escalade collided with a Nissan Maxima. Tuck was with his wife Lauren in the SUV at the time. Bergen County Police told the website the accident was "minor" and that there were no injuries.

A Giants spokesman confirmed that Tuck and his wife "are fine" and that Tuck was at the Giants' practice facility as scheduled Saturday morning for the Giants' walkthrough practice before traveling to Washington for Sunday's game against the Redskins.

Tuck was also with the team on their train to Washington from Newark, N.J. when they boarded around 1 p.m. Before boarding, he again told a team spokesman that he is "fine".

Tuck is expected to play in the Giants' must-win game against the Redskins which kicks off Sunday at 4:15 p.m.. Prior to the accident he was listed on the injury report as "probable" because of a chest injury.
