Woody & Jets dress to impress

The lobby of the Pierre Hotel was dressed up in holiday garland and silver bows Monday night, a preview of the charity fashion show upstairs. Among the entrants were Jets stars D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Antonio Cromartie and Mark Sanchez.

"My style is very elegant," said fullback Tony Richardson, wearing a gray suit and no tie. "You have to look sharp."

The event, a fund-raiser for right tackle Damien Woody's PROS (People Reaching Out to Someone) foundation, was an off-field get-together during the biggest week of the season for the team as it prepares to face the New England Patriots next Monday.

Woody, who won two Super Bowls with the Patriots, was given the stage by teammates.

"We know he loves these games so we just give him the spotlight," said Wayne Hunter, Woody's backup.

Though he missed practice Monday due to an MCL injury, Woody promised to make it back for the Patriots. He also showed some mobility on the runway. His trainers had him specially taped for precaution.

"I had the fashion show idea," Woody said. "And my wife, Nicole, brought it from a dream to reality."

When comparing Tom Brady and Mark Sanchez, two celebrity quarterbacks, Woody, who played with both, said he would have more faith in Sanchez in the fashion ventures.

"I've gotta stand by my guy," Woody said. "Mark handles everything well."
