Air Force loses to Division III Colorado College in college basketball upset

Division III Colorado College upset the Air Force Falcons, 60-57 in overtime in a major college basketball upset.

Colorado College (1-0), trailed Air Force by eight with 6:42 left in the fame. The Tigers then went on a 12-4 run that sent the game into overtime, tied at 53.

Colorado College scored with 2:28 left in the game to go up 57-55 and then hit a pair of free throws to go up 59-55. Air Force attempted to come back with a jumper with ten seconds left but Colorado College hit another free throw and then Nick Rose stole the ball to clinch the game.

Rose also finished the game with 18 points for Colorado College.

Air Force’s game vs. Colorado College on Wednesday was named for a man who has had a positive influence on not only the two schools, but college basketball as well. For the past two seasons, Air Force has hosted the Reggie Minton Air Force Classic, but due to scheduling issues, the tournament will not be played this season. Therefore, Wednesday’s contest is named the Reggie Minton Game.

Colorado College has zero players on scholarship, compared to Air Force's entire team of scholarship players. The Tigers have not had a winning record since 2004, finishing 0-22 three years ago.

Tom Fow finished the game with 17 points and eight rebounds for Air Force before fouling out with 3:54 left in overtime.
